Our service

What we install, and where

We supply FLO and Wallbox chargers, or we install yours, Tesla included. First, we check how much capacity is left in your service: that calculation decides whether the charger connects as is or whether the service has to be upgraded first.

  • We help you choose the charger that fits you
  • We adapt your panel and add the dedicated circuit
  • We run the cable to the charger location
  • We mount the charger in the right spot and commission it

How it works

From the visit to commissioning

  1. We assess on site

What the service can really take, room in the panel, distance to the charger and walls to cross.

  2. We explain the options

The level and brand that fit, and whether an upgrade is necessary or can be avoided.

  3. We plan the material and the job

What has to be ordered, the exact cable run, the order of work and what needs to be cleared.

  4. We install and commission

Dedicated breaker, cable, bracket and commissioning, with a one year warranty on parts and labour.

Assessment

What we assess at your place

Four things decide the job, and none of them can be guessed over the phone. That is why the visit comes before the number.

  • What your service can actually take

Not what is printed on the panel. A 200 amp panel with half its spaces taken by a water heater, a heat pump and radiant floor heating does not have the same room as a new one.

  • The distance and the run

From the panel to where you want the charger. That sets the cable gauge and the path it has to take, through a finished wall, a detached garage or a slab.

  • Exactly where it gets mounted

The height, the wall that will carry it, and which side of the car the port is on. A cable you have to walk around the car with every night is the kind of detail you notice afterwards.

  • How you actually use it

Two vehicles charging overnight is not the same need as one car doing short trips. The charger gets sized on your week, not on a spec sheet.

The brands

The right brand
for your situation

Three brands, chosen for the job and not for an exclusivity agreement.

  • FLO Home X5

Our first choice for a home in Quebec, and by far the one we install most often.

    • Service and parts in Quebec, no import delay
    • Built for our winters, tested at temperatures like ours
    • Clear app for tracking your charging and its cost
  • Wallbox Pulsar Plus

The high end, and often the answer when the electrical service is too tight.

    • Fine load management, which sometimes avoids an upgrade
    • Compact, useful in a narrow garage
    • Advanced settings for two vehicles
  • Tesla Wall Connector

Installed if you already own one. We do not sell it, we install it to code.

    • Fastest charging on a Tesla vehicle
    • Connects like any other level 2 charger
    • We verify its certification before connecting it
The budget

What makes the price move

Three things decide whether the job fits in a half day or calls for a trench. None of them can be guessed over the phone.

A garage attached to the panel is a half day. A detached garage at the back of the lot means a trench, a conduit and a separate feed.

If it has to be upgraded to 200 amps, that becomes two jobs instead of one, with a request to file with the utility.

An unfinished basement goes quickly. A finished concrete wall, much less so. Closing the finish back up is part of the calculation.

Two vehicles charging the same night is not the same circuit. A second charger or shared charging gets decided before the work, not after.

Distance to the charger

We do not post prices and we do not give them over the phone. Two neighbouring houses can call for two very different jobs. We assess on site, then we quote.

The installation

What the installation includes

The list to compare from one quote to the next. Two very different prices almost always hide two different lists.

A dedicated breaker, sized for the load the charger draws. Nothing else connects to it: not the garage freezer, not the outdoor lighting.

From the panel to the charging point, fastened to code, in the gauge the distance calls for. That run is the difference between a half day and a full day on site.

Plumb, at the right height, and where the cable reaches your car's port without pulling. That gets decided on site, with you, not on a drawing.

We plug in, we charge, we confirm the installation holds the rated load, and we walk you through the app. You are not left alone with a new device.

One year on parts and labour. The invoice carries our licence numbers, the model and the serial number, which is what a rebate program will ask you for.

Our experience with chargers

Enough chargers installed to see the problems coming

Between 80 and 90 chargers installed since the start, about ten of them in the past year.

What changes from one job to the next is almost never the charger. It is the distance to the panel, the load already connected and the state of the service. We look at those three before we propose anything.

Price estimator

An idea of the price
before you choose your charger

The price comes down to two things: the distance between your panel and the parking spot, and the capacity left in your service. The tool asks a few questions and shows a range. It is an estimate to place your project, not a quote.

Rebates and grants

What your project may qualify for

The Quebec government pays a rebate toward buying a home charger. It applies to the charger itself: the electrical work, the wiring and any panel upgrade are not eligible expenses. Worth knowing before you build a budget.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

Nothing here promises a timeline or an amount: for that, we need to see the job.

Not always. Adding a charger requires enough capacity. In some cases a panel upgrade or load management is needed. An assessment is essential before installation, for safety as much as for code compliance.

A charger in an attached garage, close to the panel, is usually done within the day. As soon as it means crossing a yard, opening a trench or upgrading the service, it stretches out. We give you the picture after seeing the site.

Level 1 plugs into an ordinary 120 volt outlet and charges very slowly, a few kilometres per hour. Level 2 uses a dedicated 240 volt circuit and charges a vehicle overnight. Level 2 is what we install.

We tell you which documents are usually required and we provide what is ours to provide, such as the installation details. Programs change, so we invite you to confirm the conditions in force at the time of your work.

The work has to be done by a licensed contractor and declared under the rules in force. That is one reason to deal with a master electrician: the declaration and the compliance are part of the job, not a step you have to manage.
